Tommy Spurr makes a welcome return to action this Monday night with a runout for the development squad in their league game with Bolton Wanderers.
The popular defender has been sidelined for the majority of the season with a troublesome groin injury, but is named in the starting eleven for this evening's match at the County Ground, Leyland.
Although Spurr featured in the pre-season friendly matches against Bradford City, Bury and Stoke City, and for the Under-21s against Reading at the end of September, he has continued to struggle to overcome the injury. Eventually the full back underwent an operation to sort the problem once and for all.
After returning to full training over the festive period, Spurr will step up his fitness programme with some game time for Eric Kinder's side.
December signing Connor Thomson gets his first taste of action in a Rovers shirt at right back, whilst Jake Kean gets another runout between the posts.
ROVERS: Kean, Thomson, Spurr, Carson, Lavelle, Jones, Mahoney, Bauress (c), Rittenberg, Green, Doyle.
Subs: Preston, Crump, Joel, Nyambe, Wall.
Kick-off at the County Ground is at 7.00pm, admission prices are £3 for adults, £1 for concessions.
