Rovers ace extends stay

10 January 2015

Rovers are pleased to announce that Markus Olsson has netted a new deal.

The in-form full-back, who has been one of Rovers’ standout performers this season, is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2016.

The 26-year-old, who joined from Swedish side Halmstads BK in January 2012, has gone on to make 72 appearances in Rovers’ colours.

Olsson, who has started more league games than any other Rovers player this season, producing countless impressive performances, is delighted to extend his stay at Ewood Park.

“It’s very pleasing,” said the Swedish star.

“I’ve been happy with how I’ve played this season. I think I’ve done well in a lot of games, but I’m always looking to improve my game, in every aspect, and get better. I’ll keep working hard in training and hopefully I can keep going.

“I’m enjoying my football right now. We’re playing well and when the team is doing well you want to be a part of it going forward. I’ve been here a few years now, so I definitely feel at home.”
