Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is hoping for more of the same when they take on Charlton Athletic this Saturday.
Fresh from their league meeting a fortnight ago, the two Championship sides now face off in the FA Cup 3rd round tie at the Valley.
Rovers were comfortable 2-0 winners when the two sides met back in December, and the manager would like to see them accomplish the same result in the cup.
"It was a great performance," said Bowyer.
"We played a different formation against them and that worked. Then against Middlesbrough we played another formation and that worked for us as well.
"So it depends on the personnel that will be available for us on Saturday."
Rovers aim to go one step further than last season when they were knocked out at the third round stage by Manchester City, but only after a replay.
Following the 1-1 draw at Ewood, Rovers more than held their own in the first half at the Etihad, but a crucial goal scored on the stroke of half-time gave City the advantage before running out 5-0 winners.
"For the young group at the time I said it was great experience for them," added the manager.
"People said that we could have done without the replay but I disagree with that because it was part of their development to gain experience in that atmosphere and that environment.
"It is the same again, if we are good enough to beat Charlton away then your name is in the hat for hopefully another trip to one of the big boys."
Tickets for Saturday's match will be on sale at Ewood Park until 4.00pm Friday. Tickets will be available at the Valley on the day of the game from the South Stand away end - cash only.
