Gary Bowyer was delighted with the performance of Jason Lowe on his return to the side on Saturday.
The Rovers midfielder has been sidelined with a troublesome foot injury since the end of August, but was impressive in the centre of the park in the draw with Wigan.
Lowe's previous attempt at a comeback before Christmas saw him limp out of the victory over Charlton Athletic, but after coming through the full match at the DW Stadium, his manager hopes he can now remain injury free for the rest of the season.
"I thought he was terrific today," said Bowyer after the game. "He's come through it and hopefully there is no after effects and we can look towards Swansea and giving him more game time.
"There was one moment in particular in the first half where he's chased back 20-yards and got back ahead of the lad. That is what he gives us, his energy, his legs and his desire.
"He's come through it which is a massive bonus for us now and we look forward to him carrying on for the rest of the season now."
