Rovers Ladies will hope to reach the final of the Lancashire FA Womens Challenge Cup for the 12th season in succession when they take on Preston North End this evening.
Tonight’s tie will now take place at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (DACA), kick-off 7.30pm, and not at AFC Darwen as originally scheduled.
Gemma Donnelly’s side lost 2-1 to Preston in last season’s county cup final, but beat their local rivals 3-1 at the semi-final stage two years ago.
Rovers welcome back goalkeeper Jo Hutcheson from suspension for tonight’s cup clash and Donnelly is also expected to blood some of Rovers’ rising stars.
“Three graduates from the Centre of Excellence are eligible to play and will feature in the squad,” she said.
“Georgia Stanway, Megan Taylor and Katie Maher will all be with us and I’m really excited for their inclusion.”
Rovers host Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday, kick-off 1pm.
