Gary Bowyer was left frustrated as Rovers tasted defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Ewood Park on Sunday.
The Rovers boss admitted his side weren't at their best as they went down 1-0 courtesy of Dave Edwards' second half strike.
The home side huffed and puffed for an equaliser, but the visitors held out to claim all three points to do the double over Rovers this season.
"It was massively frustrating," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.
"It is hugely disappointing because of the manner in which we had been playing recently, we haven't executed the basics right enough today.
"We knew what Wolves would be about in terms of their game plan to counter us and that is exactly what happened.
"We weren't at the standards that the players had set themselves, that is the disappointment, we should have done better than that.
"We didn't hit the heights we've shown recently. In terms of our intensity we've not really put them under the sort of pressure that we do at home, we didn't do enough.
"We'll be back in tomorrow, we'll get the players heads back up and start preparing for Wigan."
Rovers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to the DW Stadium to face Wigan Athletic.
