Cup win can help our confidence

27 January 2015

Shane Duffy believes Saturday's FA Cup win over Swansea City can help provide a timely boost to their league form.

Following on from their victory over the Premier League side in the cup, Rovers are back in league action this evening with a tough trip to face Derby County.

Saturday's man-of-the-match felt Rovers were full value at Ewood, but stressed the importance of building on the result with a busy schedule of fixtures from now until the end of the season.

"It can be massive for our confidence," Duffy told Radio Rovers.

"It is just what we needed as over the last six games we haven't been great. It can give the fans a little boost and everyone is going to be wary of us.

"Hopefully we can pick up in the league where are main focus is."

Duffy knows tonight's match against the Rams won't be easy, but feels Rovers have to approach this evening's game in the same manner as they did at the weekend.

"I think they'll be similar to Swansea with the way they play," added the defender.

"They are playing with confidence but so are we. We don't fear any teams so we'll go down there and do our best."

Tickets for the match are currently on open sale. Prices are £24 Adults, £17
