Gary Bowyer believes Derby County are the best footballing side Rovers have faced this season.
The Rams produced a scintillating display in the 3-2 victory at Ewood Park back in September, but Bowyer is hoping Rovers can transfer their cup form into their Championship campaign ahead tonight’s trip to the iPro Stadium.
“In the first half of the game here at Ewood, they were the best team we have faced all season,” admitted the Rovers manager.
“However, we finished the game strongly, had one cleared off the line, before Lee Grant produced an unbelievable save from Tom Cairney.
“So we will go there and have a real go at getting something.
“The league is so totally unpredictable. Blackpool were 2-0 up at Watford last weekend and then you saw what happened in the second-half.
“Anyone can beat anyone at the moment and I think it will be one of those seasons where it will go right to the wire.
“We aren’t going to kid ourselves – we need to start winning games. We’ve shown we can do it in the cup, now we need to prove it in the league.”
