Gary Bowyer has warned against a Charlton backlash when the two sides meet at the Valley later this afternoon.
It is just a fortnight since a Jordan Rhodes double defeated the Addicks in the league at Ewood Park, and the Rovers boss expects the home side to come out looking to make amends in the third round cup tie.
Whilst Bowyer admits that the FA Cup isn't his priority this season, he believes a healthy run in the competition can only help the side in their league quest.
"I think the cup is a competition that has always been special," said Bowyer.
"But if you are asking me would I prefer a decent cup run or a promotion then it is a no-brainer to this football club.
"I think it is important that we go there and contest the fixture as well as we can.
"When it is against a team in your same league, and against a team that you've recently played and beat, then it is one of the more difficult draws to get.
"We are aware of the fact that they will be determined to put that right from what we did to them.
"There are bits that you can take from that match but it will be a completely different game, we've got to try and go there and put a performance on like we did at home, and like we did at the Valley at the end of last season."
Fans can pay on the day at the Valley this afternoon, cash only from the Jimmy Seed South Stand. Admission prices are £10 for Adults and £5 Concessions.
Rovers Player will have full 90-minute audio coverage of the match from 2.45pm.
