Matt Kilgallon believes the much-needed victory over Fulham will help kick-start Rovers’ season.
Rovers had gone five games without a league win prior to the victory over the Cottagers, but the defender insists that his side are now full of confidence.
“It was a massive win,” said Kilgallon. “We need to go on a run now. We are in high spirits after the victory and everyone is well up for it.
“Fulham are a good team that are improving. They have some very good players and we had to defend well.
“I think our work rate was excellent and we made it difficult for them. By the last 10-15 minutes we had worn them out and we could get on the ball and enjoy it. It was a massive three points.
"We’ve been working hard in games recently and not picking up points, but everyone goes through those spells because there are just so many games.
"With games almost every Saturday then Tuesday, it’s just madness. But you only need to win a couple and you’re right back in it.
“The table is starting to look a bit better for us, so we just have to stay positive."
Whilst the 29-year-old has found opportunities limited this season, Killa is keen to retain his place in the team.
“I just kept myself fit and I knew my chance would come, so hopefully now I can keep the shirt for a while," he added.
“I had to train hard and it was frustrating, but everyone who isn’t in the team is the same.
"But I’m in now and it’s my place to lose.”
