Jason Lowe will miss Saturday's FA Cup match against Stoke City with a foot injury.
The versatile footballer picked up the knock during Tuesday's night's 2-1 win over Rotherham United at Ewood Park and is set to be sidelined for at least a fortnight.
It is a repeat of the injury that saw the former England Under-21 international miss more than three months this season, but boss Gary Bowyer hopes the injury isn't too serious on this occasion.
"It is a recurrence of his previous injury so we are not entirely sure how long he is going to be out for," admitted Bowyer.
"I think for the next week or two we can safely say that he is not going to be recovered enough to feature in that time and then we'll just have to take it from there with him.
"Everything that is possible for him to do he will do because he is that type. We just hope he can come back quickly.
"It is disappointing for everybody but no more so than Lowey himself because the form of the lad has been terrific since he came back into the team and I think it has made everybody appreciate him even more than what they did before."
Rovers will also be without David Dunn for the match against Stoke, whilst Jay Spearing is cup-tied having played in the competition this season with Bolton Wanderers.
