Gary Bowyer has called on Josh King to back up his man-of-the-match performance on Saturday with further impressive displays.

The Norwegian international stole the show at the weekend with a first career hat-trick as Rovers defeated Stoke City 4-1 in the FA Cup.

Now as attentions return to the league campaign with a match against Cardiff City this evening, Bowyer wants to see King maintain those levels.

"You are always waiting for somebody to catch fire and Kingy caught fire on Saturday," said the Rovers boss.

"He's now got to go and maintain that and show the same levels of consistency that you want in your strikers.

"It wasn't just his goals, you look at the chances he created as well, and he got the penalty for us as well.

"You all saw what his main asset is - his pace. Like anybody with that asset, the thing you want from him is an end product, whether that is a cross, a pass or obviously the goals that he managed to get on Saturday.

"He works hard in training on his finishing and fortunately for us on Saturday it paid off.

"He's got to keep doing that now, he can't rest on his laurels and we won't allow him to."

Fans who haven't purchased tickets for tonight's game can pay cash at the away turnstiles at Cardiff or via card at their main ticket office.
Matchday prices are Adults: £28.00, Senior/16-21yrs: £20.00, Under 16’s £20.00.
