Gary Bowyer will keep a close eye on the development of John O'Sullivan after the youngster went back out on loan.
The attacking midfielder has joined League One side Barnsley on a month-long deal until the 21st March.
This will be the third loan move for the 21-year-old, after playing for Southport last season and Accrington Stanley for four months this campaign.
"John was eager to get back out on loan so we've initially done it for a month so we are covered on that scale," said the Rovers boss.
"It is a philosophy of mine in terms of getting the kids out and playing league football as quickly as they can.
"John has gone through the Conference to League Two, and now to League One, so hopefully we can measure him in that which is obviously closer to Championship football."
