A great challenge for us

Gary Bowyer knows they'll have to reproduce the sort of form that saw Rovers defeat Swansea and Stoke if they are to get a result against Norwich City this evening.

Rovers turned on the style to knock the two Premier League teams out of the FA Cup and they'll need to do the same against an in-form Canaries side who have won each of their last four matches.

"It is going to be a great game," said the manager. "It is a hell of a challenge for us and the bigger the challenge our players are stepping up to the mark.

"Hopefully they can go and produce the same again on Tuesday night."

The Rovers boss knows it won't be easy against a team that has one of the strongest squads in the division.

"They are all must wins and this is the next game so it is one of those," added Bowyer.

"They've got a fantastic squad, a Premier League squad still, and you look at the players that they've been able to recruit in this window like Graham Dorrans that shows you the standard that the club has got.

"They have a good structure, good people in charge and they've used their finances well in terms of the players that they've recruited."

Rovers lost the previous meeting back in August on a controversial night at Carrow Road.

Tom Cairney's stunning strike after just 41 seconds put Rovers in command, but penalty decisions at either end of the field in quick succession turned the match on it's head.

"There were two big key moments in the game," recalled the Rovers boss. "The penalty that we didn't get given that was an incredible handball, and then the one that was given against us which the assessors subsequently told us it wasn't a penalty.

"I think we showed some real fighting qualities against them that time and they'll know that they are going to be having a game on Tuesday night."
