We got what we deserved

Paul Lambert admitted Rovers deserved nothing in their 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium.

Gary Madine's solitary second-half strike ensured it would be the hosts claiming victory on Bank Holiday Monday.

Rovers created little throughout the game but late on could have equalised, however Tom Lawrence's shot hit the inside of the post.

Speaking after the game, boss Lambert felt Rovers did not match the standards he has set.

"We got what we deserved, we just never got going," Lambert told Rovers PlayerHD.

"I knew it was going to be dangerous with the game called off on Boxing Day.

"People think with the extra day it will help, but it really is dangerous to think that.

"It was our own doing, we never got going and it wasn't good enough from us.

"That performance certainly wasn't the standard I expect from us."
