As Rovers prepare to take on Rotherham United at Ewood Park tomorrow night, boss Paul Lambert has hailed his side's defensive solidity.

The clean sheet in Rovers' 2-0 win over Bristol City last Saturday was their 7th shutout so far this season.

The new Rovers boss has been delighted with the displays of centre halves Shane Duffy and Grant Hanley, and believes they are getting better with every game.

"The two lads we've got in there have performed at a really, really high level," said Lambert.

"I thought they were very good. I think they are getting better at it, I think they've got a great desire to try and not get beat.

"That is all you can ask for as defenders because they can't affect what happens in the last third of the pitch, so we basically tell them to make sure the back door is shut and if they can do that and play as well as they have been then everybody will be happy."

Lambert was also full of praise for full backs Adam Henley and Markus Olsson, both in defence and attack.

He added: "Going forward the two of them have given us a great advantage as they are very quick. Adam is just a young kid, but Markus has been about for a longer time. The two of them have done really well, allied to the two in the middle."

Tickets for the match against Rotherham will be on sale until the 7.45pm kick-off, priced from £13 for Adults, from £9 for Seniors and 18-21 year-olds and from just £4 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
