Rovers Ladies booked their place in the third round of the FA Women's Premier League Cup courtesy of a 4-3 victory away to Mossley Hill.
In a topsy-turvy encounter, Rovers raced into a three-goal lead, before being pegged back by the hosts. However, Ali Johnson scored a late winner to send Gemma Donnelly's side through to the next round.
In wet and wild conditions, Rovers started strongly and opened the scoring on 12 minutes when Sophie Jones' chip found the far corner.
Saffron Jordan then scored a quickfire double to extend Rovers' lead either side of the half-hour mark.
Her first arrived on 27 minutes courtesy of some individual brilliance. After beating two players, Jordan smashed a shot into the top corner. Moments later, a well-worked team move resulted in Jordan tapping home her second.
The hosts were handed a lifeline when Megan Brodie pulled a goal back on 41 minutes and Rovers then had goalkeeper Danielle Hill to thank as she made a vital penalty save just before the break.
Rovers struggled to cope with the conditions after the interval, as their battle against the wind and Mossley's physicality intensified.
Sheree Thompson reduced the arrears further on 48 minutes, before Sophie Perry completed the comeback 15 minutes from time.
However, Rovers regained the lead on 83 minutes when Johnson rounded the keeper to score and the visitors held on the claim the win.
Assistant manager Amanda Goodwin said: "It was a professional performance and we got the job done."
