After grabbing his first goal in Rovers colours, Hope Akpan is eager to add more to his tally.

The midfielder opened the scoring last time out in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, and has now backed himself to go on a goalscoring run.

"I'm happy to score my first goal for the Rovers," Akpan told Radio Rovers.

"I'd done a good job of convincing everyone that I'd scored against Preston but that one is definitely mine and it was a good feeling to score - and at home as well.

"I have a target in mind so I'm glad to get the first one out of the way, previous times when I've scored I've gone onto score a few more so hopefully that can be the case again."

After a win and a draw under Paul Lambert, Akpan believes believes the indications are good for the second half of the season with the way the team are performing under the new manager.

"The signs are there that we are doing what the manager wants us to do," he added.

"We are closing down, we are pressing and we are on the front foot which is what we want so hopefully we are going in the right direction.

"I believe in this side, I think we've got good players, and if we can apply ourselves and be really disciplined we can get to where we want to be which is the play-offs."

Less than 100 tickets remain for Saturday's match against Bristol City and supporters should note that there are no sales to Rovers fans on the day of the game.

Prices are £25 for Adults, £22 for Seniors aged 65 and over, £20 for Under 22s, £17 for Under 19s and £13 for Under 12s.
