Fode's goals will come

Boss Paul Lambert offered words of encouragement for Fode Koita after the striker once again came close to breaking his goalscoring duck.

The 25-year-old frontman is yet to score since his summer arrival from France, but came as close as anyone in the 1-0 loss to Reading on Sunday.

The Rovers boss is pleased that Koita is getting into those goalscoring positions and has backed him to find the back of the net sooner rather than later.

"It is only his second game so he is still getting used to everything and what is going on," Lambert told Rovers PlayerHD.

"Fode against Nottingham Forest and now against Reading were big moments for him, but I'm not going to be too critical, he knows he should have scored but his general game was very good.

"He put himself around and he held it up well and went into the 1v1 situations.

"As I've said before, it is a big ask for a young guy to come in at this level and to try and hit the ground running, but in the last two games he's been very good.

"His first goal will come, as long he is there to miss them, I'd be more worried if he wasn't."
