A pleasing start

19 December 2015

Boss Paul Lambert has spoke of his delight at the points return from his first five games in charge.

Since taking over the Scot has overseen an unbeaten start to his reign, and has picked up 11 points from a possible 15, with three victories and three clean sheets to climb up the Championship table.

After two home games in succession, Rovers are back on their travels tomorrow when they take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium, with Lambert keen for the team to maintain their run of results.

"It has been really pleasing," said the Rovers manager. "Coming in at a difficult time with all the negativity surrounding the football club that was there.

"But hopefully, slowly but surely it is starting to lift and results wise, getting 11 points out of 15, is extremely good form.

"It is a big climb to try and sustain that and that is what we have got to try to do.

"We were a mile off it if truth be known beforehand, but all credit to the team, I'm delighted with them."
