Gary Bowyer believes Rovers can make the most of the first international break of the season.

Following the Friday night draw with Bolton Wanderers, Rovers aren't now back in action until Sunday 13th September when they travel to take on Fulham.

The Rovers boss intends to use the free time to work his newly assembled squad hard on the training pitches at Brockhall in advance of the Craven Cottage clash.

"I think the break is a good thing for us," Bowyer told Radio Rovers.

"With us having played Saturday-Tuesday for the past few weeks it will allow us to get some real work done on the training ground with everybody.

"We are still a new group so this extra time at Brockhall will allow the lads to gel further."

This Tuesday also sees the summer transfer window come to a close, but whilst Bowyer has his fingers crossed there are no departures, he is always on the lookout for more arrivals to strengthen the squad.

"Hopefully Tuesday comes and goes and then that is it, we know what we have got," he added.

"The staff that we have here are always on the phone and chasing things, but it has to be the right fit for us of course."

Rovers return to action after the international break with a trip to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday 13th September, kick-off 12.00pm.

Tickets for the match are currently on open sale priced at £25 for Adults, £20 for Seniors aged 65 & over, £20 for 17 - 21’s and £15 for Juniors aged 16 and under.
