Chris Taylor will miss the start of the 2015-16 Sky Bet Championship after undergoing a minor operation.
The Rovers midfielder, who signed a new one-year deal in the summer, missed the end of the last campaign with a groin strain, and whilst he returned to training this pre-season, a reoccurrence of the injury has forced him to go under the knife.
"He has had a little operation I'm afraid but it has gone very well," revealed Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.
"Timewise it is very difficult to put a time on anything but we'd be disappointed if it is more than a month."
Lee Williamson missed the weekend match with a minor knock picked up in training on Friday though it isn't thought to be serious.
Elsewhere, things look a little better on the injury front with Corry Evans, Chris Brown, and Darragh Lenihan all making good progress.
All three missed Saturday's win over Wigan Athletic, but all are expected to train this week.
"Corry joins back in on Monday, Chris Brown is training, as is Darragh," added Bowyer.
Tickets for next Saturday's league opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently on open sale priced from £22 for Adults, £14 for Seniors aged 65 and over, £14 for 18-21 year-olds and from £9 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
