Sacha Petshi will get a runout for the Under-21s this evening when they take on Newcastle United.

The young French midfielder hasn't featured for the first team yet since joining the club in the summer, but will gain some minutes under his belt for the development squad tonight at Whitley Park.

Also starting once more is goalkeeper Simon Eastwood, whilst Ryan Nyambe, fresh from his first team debut against Shrewsbury, will play at full back.

This evening's match sees the two teams looking to claim their first points of the season after both tasted defeat in their opening matches.

Damien Johnson's side slipped to a narrow 1-0 loss at the hands of Derby County at Leigh Sports Village, whilst the Magpies also fell in their first match going down 3-1 at Wolves.

Last season saw the two sides meet on three occasions. Newcastle won both league fixtures, whilst Rovers knocked them out of the U21 Premier League Cup on their way to the final.
