Rovers will give every chance for Jordan Rhodes to recover in time for tomorrow night's match against Cardiff City.
The striker hobbled off moments into the second half of Rovers' 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town on Saturday and is considered doubtful for Tuesday's match at Ewood.
The injury to the 25-year-old isn't thought to be too serious, with a late decision on his availability expected.
"He was assessed yesterday by our medical team and hopefully we'll see how he goes today in terms of the treatment he receives," said boss Gary Bowyer on Monday.
"We'll give him as long as possible but it was a bad challenge and he's done well to come away with only the knock he has got at this moment in time.
"He works hard on his rehab, so the work that he did previously has put him good stead for this one.
"We've just got to try and hopefully get him fit for Tuesday and if not then definitely on Saturday."
Two players definitely missing the match against the Bluebirds are midfielders Chris Taylor and Corry Evans.
Bowyer added: "With Corry, his thigh is just a bit tight, but we are certainly hopeful that he'll be ready for the weekend. Chris Taylor is making good progress after his groin operation."
Tickets for Tuesday's match are on open sale up to the 7.45pm kick-off, priced from £18 Adults, £12 for Seniors and 18-21years, and from just £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
