Nathan Delfouneso was pleased to see his goal earn Rovers their first points of the season on Saturday.
The forward's second half strike at the John Smith's Stadium, his second goal in as many games, helped Rovers claim a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
Now having got their first point on the board, Delfouneso knows it is important that the team now build on it with a home match against Cardiff City next up at Ewood on Tuesday.
"It is great to go and get the goal and help us get a point," said the striker.
"It is nice to get off the mark which is always important for the team and we can kick on from here.
"You always want to get started and get points on the board as quickly as possible to gain confidence.
"Huddersfield had a good home record last year so it is a difficult place to come, so to go and get a point I'm sure we can build on it for the next game back at home."
The former Aston Villa youngster believes it will take a few weeks before the team properly gels, but he is confident they'll do well once all the new arrivals are fully settled in the squad.
"You've got to remember that it is a bit of a transitional period," the striker added.
"For me it is my third or fourth week, then there's Danny Guthrie and Fode, we all came in at a similar time. Then you've got Hope and Mo.
"So I reckon once we've all bedded in and we're all used to each other and that chemistry I'm sure we'll have some success."
Rovers are back in action this Tuesday night when Cardiff City are the visitors to Ewood Park - kick-off 7.45pm.
Tickets are on open sale priced from £18 Adults, £12 for Seniors and 18-21years, and from just £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
