Gary Bowyer was pleased to complete the pre-season programme with a victory ahead of next Saturday's season opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Second half goals from Willem Tomlinson, Grant Hanley and Ben Marshall, saw Rovers despatch Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park to end the summer friendlies with the win.
But whilst the 3-0 result was welcome, coming through the match unscathed was more important for the manager and his small squad of players.
"The most important thing was to come through the game with no injuries and barring Nicky Maynard's slight hamstring we have managed to do that," Bowyer told Rovers Player.
"The game itself wasn't a classic in the first half, but we picked it up in the second half, upped the tempo, and scored three very good goals.
"I'm delighted for young Willem, as he has done ever so well this pre-season. The second one is a great delivery from Craig Conway which we know about, and the third, Marshy has been practicing that one for two years so finally it has come off. So hopefully there is more to come from him."
The Rovers boss was also pleased to keep another clean sheet this pre-season, but knows it will count for nothing if they can't take that into next weekend's Wolves clash.
He added: "You are also always happy when you keep a clean sheet, it is very important for your goalkeeper and the back four, but they are pre-season games and we are never going to get carried away with them.
"We are now all really looking forward to the start of the season, it will be a completely different game I'm sure.
"We are really looking forward to next Saturday at Ewood."
