Gary Bowyer believes he has added the perfect blend of experience and versatility to the squad with the signings of Danny Guthrie and Nathan Delfouneso.

Ahead of Saturday's first match of the season against Wolves, this week has seen the Rovers boss bolster his squad with the pair joining after successful trials.

Former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder Guthrie has signed a two-year deal, whilst Aston Villa graduate Delfouneso has signed a one-year deal.

"Danny Guthrie is a fantastic signing for a free transfer," said Bowyer. "He really is when you look at his ability with the ball and his background.

"To be able to get him on board speaks volumes of the hard work that has gone in by everybody.

"He has got Premier League technical ability and he is only going to get better with us when we get him fitter.

"For someone of Nathan's age, the experience that he's got playing the Championship, he certainly meets the criteria for us in that sense.

"He is somebody that adds just a little bit of a difference to our attack.

"What we've looked at this season is hopefully people that can play in more than one position because with the rule that you are only allowed 24 established it is important that you get some flexibility in players.

"The fact that Nathan can play on both flanks as well as down the middle has been an added bonus for us."

The pair could make their debut this weekend against Wolves, and fans who haven't yet purchased their tickets for the big season opener this Saturday are advised to come down to Ewood early.

The club are anticipating the ticket office, Roverstore and collection point to be busy ahead of the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers so fans are requested to allow extra time.

Tickets for the match are priced from £22 for Adults, £14 for Seniors aged 65 and over, £14 for 18-21 year-olds and from £9 for Juniors aged 17 and under.

Season tickets are also still on sale ahead of the new campaign, representing fantastic value for money.

In keeping with the club's commitment to making football at Ewood Park as affordable as possible for supporters, prices for the season start from just £249 for Adults and £159 for fans aged 18-21 and seniors aged 65 and over, and just £60 for Under-18s.

Reserve your seat online today at or call the ticket office on 01254 372000 for further information.
