Boss Gary Bowyer was pleased with the impact that Hope Akpan made on his debut on Saturday.
The newly-arrived midfielder put in an impressive second half showing at the John Smith's Stadium in Rovers' 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.
Bowyer was delighted with Akpan's display and he could now be set for his home debut in this evening's match against Cardiff City.
"I thought he made a massive difference when he went on there in terms of the energy that he gave us," said the manager.
"He was demanding of the ball and got us playing as well, so we were pleased with the response from him.
"I thought it was a terrific debut for somebody that has only been training with us since Tuesday last week.
"He's settled in well, he's delighted to be back up north and we are delighted with the start that he has made."
Tickets for tonight's match are on open sale up to the 7.45pm kick-off, priced from £18 Adults, £12 for Seniors and 18-21years, and from just £7 for Juniors aged 17 and under.
