Gary Bowyer is delighted that Rovers were able to add highly-rated attacker Tom Lawrence to their ranks.
The club beat a host of rival teams to the signature of the 21-year-old who joins Rovers on loan from Leicester City until January.
The manager has followed the forward's career since his youth days at Manchester United and was pleased to bring him on board.
"We are absolutely delighted, there was a host of Championship clubs that he could have took his pick from," said the Rovers boss.
"So we are delighted that he has chosen us and we are grateful to Leicester City to loan him for six months and we are really looking forward to him coming and playing his football here.
"We've known all about him for a long time, obviously following his career at Manchester United, and he played on loan at Yeovil against us so we know what he's about."
The arrival of Lawrence on a six-month loan deal adds to the attacking options at Rovers, with Bowyer believing he'll also add more creativity and goals to the squad.
"He's another player that can play in a variety of positions for us along the front and we need those options," added the manager.
"We've brought him in for his creativity. He's always had chances and scored goals growing up and that is what we are looking for him to bring to us."
Lawrence has been signed in time to be involved in tomorrow's trip to Brighton and will wear squad number 16.
