After making his first senior start for Rovers, boss Gary Bowyer hopes that John O'Sullivan makes the most of the chance handed to him.
O'Sullivan was named in the starting line-up at St. Andrew's on Tuesday night, playing just over an hour as Rovers drew 2-2 with Birmingham City.
Bowyer felt the young Irishman showed glimpses of his ability, and has called on him to use that experience to become a better player.
Speaking about the midfielder after the game the Rovers boss said: "I thought he showed in flashes what he is capable of.
"I think he has learnt tonight that the power and the pace that he has, and has displayed in League One, at this level people are similar if not quicker and stronger.
"So he'll have learnt tonight that he has to be able to mix his game up, but we were pleased that we were able to give him his full debut. Now he's got to build on that.
"We did it with David Raya at Leeds the other week, we've done it with Johnno, and hopefully there might be one or two more youngsters that we are able to get in before the end of the season.
"With the restrictions we are under, we need to see if they can handle the Championship because we need the players coming through the Academy. It is important that we are able to do that."
O'Sullivan and Rovers are back in action this Saturday when Nottingham Forest are the visitors to Ewood Park.
