Rudy nets top award

28 April 2015

Rudy Gestede scooped the top honour at Blackburn Rovers Disabled Supporters Club Player of the Year awards.

The striker, who has netted 21 goals in all competitions for Rovers this season, pipped full-back Markus Olsson to the main player prize.

Spanish starlet David Raya, who made his Rovers debut in the 3-0 victory over Leeds United earlier this month, received the Young Player of the Year award for the second season running, while first team coach Craig Short was named Clubman of the Year.

All first team, Under-21 and youth team players attended the popular end-of-season event, which was held in the Premier Suite at Ewood Park.

The Rovers stars posed for photos and signed autographs, before the award-winning trio took centre stage.
