After their cup exploits on Monday night, the Under-21s are back on league duty this afternoon when they face Derby County at their training ground.

Eric Kinder's side were gallant losers after extra-time against Southampton in the U21 Premier League Cup final earlier in the week, and now they return to league action later today.

Rovers were on the end of a narrow defeat to the Rams when the two sides met at Ewood Park before Christmas, Josh King and Anton Forrester both got on the scoresheet but the home side lost 4-3.

After a gruelling 120 minutes at St. Mary's, Kinder has unsurprisingly freshened up his squad with Kellen Daly, Mark Edgar, Lewis Hardcastle and Hyuga Tanner coming in. There's also a first U21 start for Academy top scorer Sam Joel.

Lewis Mansell, Connor Thomson and Connor Mahoney all drop to the bench.

ROVERS: Raya, Daly, Edgar, Hardcastle, Lavelle, Jones, Carson (c), Bauress, Rittenberg, Tanner, Joel.

Subs: Wharton, Crump, Mansell, Thomson, Mahoney.
