Boss Gary Bowyer has been impressed with the way his counterpart Gary Rowett has gone in at Birmingham and turned their fortunes around.
City were without a manager when the two sides met at Ewood Park back in October, Rovers running out 1-0 winners thanks to Ben Marshall's second half strike.
But following his appointment at the at the end of that month, a run of results saw them pull clear of the relegation zone, and now go into tonight's match six unbeaten at home.
"Gary Rowett has gone in at Birmingham and done a fantastic job there," said the Rovers boss.
"I know him well with speaking to him over the years and also with a couple of loan players that he had when he was manager of Burton.
"Looking in from afar, they were struggling and Lee Clark had lost his job. So when he first goes in he has to repair their confidence and I think he has done that well.
"Then when you look at the calibre of the player that he has managed to bring in, he hasn't just brought bodies in, he has brought good bodies in.
"It is a great place to go St. Andrew's, there's always a good atmosphere, I am looking forward to it."
