Boss Gary Bowyer was pleased to give new signing Paul Taylor a runout in Saturday's 3-0 win over Leeds United.

Signed on loan from Ipswich Town at the end of last month, Taylor put in a lively display as a second half substitue to help Rovers easily brushed aside the Yorkshire outfit and make it three away wins in a row.

"He's got some real ability," said the manager. "He's got goals and he's also got some creativity.

"He's got a directness and you really saw that and I'm really pleased for him."

Taylor got his introduction after Adam Henley was yellow carded early on in the second half, the manager taking no risks in ensuring the defender would be available for Wednesday night's FA Cup replay against Liverpool.

Bowyer added: "Adam's booking wasn't a booking for me, but when he had been booked we didn't want to give the opportunity for him to get a second with Wednesday in mind.

"So that was an easy decision, especially when you've someone of the quality of Ben Marshall to step in there, to go from left wing to right back and he was excellent."

Rovers are back in action this Wednesday night when they take on Liverpool in their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Ewood Park.
