Gary Bowyer has praised the younger players at the football club as Rovers' Under-21s prepare to take on Southampton this Monday night in the final of the U21 Premier League Cup.
Ewood Park plays host to the first of a two-legged final this evening, with the second leg taking place at the St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton in seven days time.
Supporters can also see tonight's match for free, with a 7.00pm kick-off at Ewood Park.
"The Under-21s have done brilliantly to get to the final tonight at Ewood in the first leg," said the Rovers boss.
"John Filan and Eric Kinder have done a fantastic job to be able to get them there, especially when you look at the philosophy that we have at the club.
"We want to blood them young, and push them on and challenge them, and a lot of his squad this year has been out on loan."
Two players that won't be available for the Under-21s this evening are John O'Sullivan and Darragh Lenihan as they are with the first team squad preparing for Birmingham on Tuesday.
The duo both featured in the early rounds of the competition for the Under-21s, but are now pressing hard to claim a spot in the seniors.
"Johnno and Darragh have now progressed and there comes a point when you pass that," added Bowyer. "It is progress that they are both in the squad for Birmingham tomorrow night."
The Jack Walker Stand Lower will be open, kick-off is at 7.00pm. Car Parking is free on Car Park H behind the Blackburn End of the ground.
