Rovers' young guns go in search of cup glory this Monday evening when they take on Southampton in the 1st leg of the U21 Premier League Cup final.

Eric Kinder's side have knocked out Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Reading to reach the two-legged final, whilst the Saints have overcome Ipswich Town, Norwich City, Watford and Derby County.

As has often been the case this season, Rovers have named a young squad for this evening's Ewood clash, with just a smattering of first-team experience in the side.

David Raya, who made his senior debut in goal for Rovers against Leeds United just over a week ago, starts between the posts, whilst Connor Mahoney, who came on in last season's FA Cup tie at Manchester City, starts on the wing.

Ryan Nyambe and Connor Thomson have both been part of the first team squad in recent weeks, they also start for Kinder's squad.

The visitors have a much more experienced squad to choose from, with the likes of Paulo Gazzaniga, Jason McCarthy, Matt Targett, Harrison Reed and Sam Gallagher all having first team experience for the Saints.

ROVERS: Raya, Nyambe, Doyle, Thomson, Lavelle, Jones, Green, Bauress, Rittenberg, Carson (c), Mahoney.

Subs: Daly, Crump, Tanner, Mansell, Joel.

SAINTS: Gazzaniga, Mugabi, Targett, Gape, McCarthy, Wood, Gallagher, Reed, Seager, Hesketh, McQueen.

Subs: Sims, Britt, Sinclair, Slattery, Debayo.

Rovers are offering free entry to supporters for this evening's match. The Jack Walker Stand Lower will be open, kick-off is at 7.00pm. Car Parking is free on Car Park H behind the Blackburn End of the ground.

The second leg takes place at St. Mary's Stadium on Monday 20th April, kick-off 7.00pm.
