Ryan gets reserves runout

Ryan Tunnicliffe will be the star attraction for Rovers when the Under-21s take on Stoke City at Leigh Sports Village this Friday evening.

The on-loan midfielder is ineligible to feature against parent club Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend, so gets a runout for the development squad in the 7.00pm kick-off.

The former Manchester United youngster impressed as a second half substitute on Wednesday night against Derby and will use this evening's match to maintain his match sharpness.

With David Raya joining Conference side Southport on loan, tonight's match against the Potters sees Ryan Crump make his Rovers debut in goal.

The former Liverpool stopper has featured for the Under-21s during pre-season but this match will be his first start.

This evening's game gives Eric Kinder's side a chance to bounce back from their first defeat of the campaign.

Last Monday saw Rovers on the end of a 3-1 loss away at Middlesbrough, whilst tonight's visitors Stoke also tasted defeat with a 2-1 home loss to Reading.
