Boss Gary Bowyer was delighted as Rovers maintained their unbeaten home league record with a 3-1 win over Wigan Athletic.
Rovers responded well to going behind after James Perch had put the visitors in front, strikes from Ben Marshall and Jordan Rhodes turning the game around within five minutes.
The win was confirmed when Marshall added a sublime second nine minutes from time to make it a pleasing afternoon for the blue and whites.
"I thought it was a hell of a game," Bowyer told Radio Rovers after the match.
"In the first half it was a little bit like a boxing match, both teams sussing each other out.
"We recovered well from the penalty but then they score a scruffy goal, it has gone through bodies. It was disappointing the way that one went in.
"But we showed the character, the resilience, and we responded with a fantastic strike from Marshy. I've been on at him this past week about his shooting and his first one gets us back in the game.
"Then it's a great delivery for Jordan to score but at 2-1 you are never comfortable because Wigan are a top team with good players and staff.
"So I was pleased that we got the third with an absolutely delightful finish.
"It has been a massive team effort, a squad effort, it shows you that we are making strides in terms of the quality that we've got in the squad now.
"We were fully aware of today's test so to win is a massive boost for us, it sets us up nicely for Wednesday.
"We've got to enjoy tonight but straight away on Monday we'll be back at it and looking at Derby because that is a massive test for us."
