Shane Duffy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their internationals against Gibraltar and Germany next month.
The Rovers defender is part of Martin O'Neill's provisional 37-man for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar in Dublin on Saturday 11th October, and world champions Germany in Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday 14th October.
Ireland are on maximum points after their opening round. Claiming three points with an impressive 2-1 away in over Georgia earlier this month.
Euro newcomers Gibraltar kicked off their first qualifying campaign with 7-0 home loss to Poland, whilst group favourites Germany defeated Scotland 2-1 in Dortmund.
Duffy, who impressed on his first Rovers start at the weekend, has one cap to his name for Ireland, having featured in an end of season friendly last June against Costa Rica in Philadelphia.
• At Under-19 level, Sam Lavelle has been named in the Scotland squad for their UEFA European Under-19 Championship first qualifying round in Lithuania.
The young defender is part of an 18-man squad for the matches against Finland on October 7th, Lithuania on October 9th and Norway three days later.
The group winners and runners-up will progress to the elite qualifying round, which will be played early next year.
