Gary Bowyer has challenged goal hero Ben Marshall to maintain his impressive form when Rovers take on Derby County at Ewood Park on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old put in a Man-of-the-Match display in the 3-1 weekend win over Wigan Athletic, scoring two stunning second half strikes as Rovers came from behind to claim the win.
Now his manager wants the midfielder to repeat that showing when the Rams visit Ewood in the big midweek match.
"For me he's got Premier League technique," Bowyer told Radio Rovers on Saturday. "We've said that all along when we first brought him in.
"He was unlucky when he got injured because at the time he was coming into the sort of form that he has shown today.
"The boost that this will give him, you are going to see him go on even more now.
"He only got two goals last year so he's already equalled that, so again he's got to contribute goals and we are really pleased with him today because he has done that."
The Rovers boss felt a change in formation worked wonders against the Latics, with Marshall making the most in joining Rhodes and Gestede in a front three.
"Marshy has really worked the goalkeeper today and luckily for us he's got two," added Bowyer.
"We worked on things on Thursday and Friday that we thought that would cause Wigan some problems and fortunately for us it has come off.
"Tactically the lads were magnificent for us at times."
