Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has expressed his delight at the loan signings of Jason Steele and Ryan Tunnicliffe.
New boys Steele and Tunnicliffe, who have joined from Middlesbrough and Fulham respectively, will spend the season at Ewood Park following late deadline day switches.
“We are very happy with the business we completed on Monday,” said Bowyer, who also signed Shane Duffy from Everton on a permanent deal earlier in the day.
“Everybody needs competition and the goalkeeping position is no different. We saw an opportunity to provide some (for Paul Robinson) and we are very pleased to get Jason in because he has an awful lot of pedigree.
“Anyone we spoke to could not speak highly enough about him and about what a capable goalkeeper he is. In the end it was a no brainer for us.
“It was difficult for Ryan at Fulham because they changed the manager on a number of occasions whilst he was there.
“I’ve known Ryan for a long time and watched him grow up at Manchester United through their youth ranks and he’s received a fabulous football education there. He is desperate to do well and that hunger is a characteristic we certainly look for.”
