Gary Bowyer has called on his players to build on Saturday's win against Wigan with an improved showing against Derby County this evening.
Rovers maintained their unbeaten home league start with a 3-1 win over the Latics, but the manager knows that Steve McClaren's Rams will provide another stern test for his young side.
"They very narrowly missed out on getting in the Premier League so that shows you the level of the challenge that lies ahead," said Bowyer.
"It is a challenge that we are very much looking forward to and it will be a good measure for our lads - as was Saturday.
"We've come out of Saturday's game full of confidence and take that into the game on Wednesday."
Bowyer believes there is more to come from the team, feeling that they can perform better than shown so far this season.
"The message that we have said to the players is to give more and to be better than what they were against Wigan," added the Rovers boss.
"I know the players have the ability to go on again and produce another performance like Saturday but better.
"There's more in there from them, we know there's more in there from them. The players themselves know they can perform better.
"It is now about putting those demands on them and them standing up to those demands and believing in their ability because they've certainly got it."
Tickets for this evening's match against the Rams will be on open sale until the 7.45pm kick-off. Tickets are priced from £21 for Adults, from £13 for Seniors/Students and from £8 for under 17s.
