Deadline day signing Jason Steele insists he can’t wait to get to know his new team-mates, but admits there is a certain Rover he will be doing his best to avoid!“The international break has probably come at a good time for me personally. It gives me time to get settled into training, get to know the lads and meet the staff and I’m looking forward to it.”
“I remember it being difficult against Rovers last season. Ewood Park is always a tough place to come and hopefully I can help keep it that way.
“As for Lowey, I’ll never forgive him for that goal he scored against me! I can’t remember him ever having a shot, let alone him scoring one! I’m sure he’ll have a bit of banter with me over the next few weeks about that.
“I know a few of the lads already from England duty and other clubs and there are a lot of young, hungry players here,” he said.
Steele lined up for Middlesbrough against Rovers at Ewood Park last season when his former England Under-21 colleague Jason Lowe had the last laugh with his ‘Goal of the Season’ strike in the 1-0 victory.
