Well on the road to recovery

10 October 2014

Chris Brown can't wait to put his injury troubles behind him and make his debut for Rovers.

The summer signing from Doncaster Rovers hasn't featured for his new team as a troublesome knee injury sidelined the striker.

But after an operation three weeks ago to clear up the problem, the 6' 3" frontman is well on the road to recovery.

"It is going well, I've stepped up my strength work this week," Brown told Rovers Player.

"I've started on the treadmill doing light jogging, it is going well, I'm pleased.

"The most frustrating part was not knowing, I've played 70-odd games of over the past two season and then I join a new team determined to do well.

"But it flared up straight away which was a freak thing really, and we couldn't really get to the botrom of it.

"I tried to come back, wanting to impress all the time. I was training, but not doing myself justice. Until finally I couldn't continue and that is when the surgeon went in and found the tear.

"I'm positive now, and I'm even more determined ot get back and impress."

Whilst Brown won't be fit to feature for the first team when the league matches resume on October 18th with Rovers' trip to Ipswich Town, the striker knows he won't be too far off.

Brown added: "The international break helps with not missing the games, it gives me time to get outside in the meantime.

"The rehab is going well, I am in good very hands with the sports science and physio staff, I want to come back as good as ever.

"I've done most of it now, I can start building up my strength, get outside and then all of a sudden I'll be back. I'm very positive, I'm dying to get back, I'm more determined than ever to prove that I've got a value to the club.

"So hopefully I'll be back out training the next game after the international break."
