Scotland's youngsters miss out

12 October 2014

Scotland's Under-19s missed out on securing a place in the Elite round of the UEFA European Under-19 Championships after a 1-1 draw with Norway on Sunday.

The Scots needed to defeat their group rivals to ensure progression, however the draw - their third out of their three group games - meant that Norway and Lithuania were the countries to progress.

After featuring in the first two group matches, young Rovers defender Sam Lavelle was rested for the final game, he was an unused substitute in Kaunas.

There's still an outside chance that Ricky Sbragia’s squad could reach the next stage if they finish the third-placed team with the best record against the top pair in their group.
