Gary Bowyer will make a late decision on the fitness of both Grant Hanley and Josh King before finalising his squad to take on Birmingham City at Ewood Park on Tuesday night.
The Rovers boss was without the pair as they clinched a dramatic point on their travels at Ipswich at the weekend, injuries sustained whilst on international duty seeing them sidelined.
That means Rovers will leave it as late as possible before deciding if Hanley (knee) and King (back) have recovered in time to face a managerless City side.
"They are going to be very close," said Bowyer. "We are going to give it as long as possible and make the decision before kick-off.
"Another 24 hours from now hopefully they'll have come through."
Rovers will be without Matt Kilgallon following his harsh dismissal on Saturday. The defender will serve a one-match ban.
But whilst disappointed that Kilgallon misses the game, Bowyer knows it will give someone else the opportunity to stake their claim.
Bowyer added: "We are disappointed for Matt, because like we said on Saturday, if it had been a straight red we would have appealed it and we would have won the appeal.
"It is disappointing but that is why we have people in the squad and the squad is being tested already in this early part of the season.
"We just want to keep working away and hopefully get everybody fit and well and then kick on."
Tickets for Tuesday's game will be on open sale until the 7.45pm kick-off. Tickets are priced from £17 for Adults, £11 for Seniors/Students and from £6 for Juniors under 17.
