Rovers to face United

8 October 2014

Rovers will take on Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire Senior Cup.

After defeating Preston North End at Brockhall last month, their reward is a home tie against the Red Devils in the last eight of the competition.

United reached this stage of the Senior Cup by defeating Accrington Stanley 4-2 at the Store First Stadium last night, coming from two goals down to clinch victory.

A date and venue for the tie will be confirmed in due course.

• Meanwhile the Under-21s home fixture against Bolton Wanderers has been brought forward.

Originally scheduled to take place on Monday 18th May, the game will now take place at Leigh Sports Village on Monday 13th April, kick-off 7.00pm.
