Rovers could be without up to nine first-team players for this Saturday's home match with Huddersfield Town.
The club's injury woes show no sign of abating with Rudy Gestede added to the list after limping out of the midweek loss at Rotherham with a hamstring strain.
David Dunn, Tommy Spurr, Jason Lowe, Chris Brown, Paul Robinson and Alex Baptiste are all confirmed absentees, whilst Corry Evans is suspended.
However boss Gary Bowyer will leave it as late as possible before making a decision on the availability of midfielder Tom Cairney and striker Gestede.
"I think there's the potential for us to be without nine," said the manager on Thursday afternoon.
"We'll leave it as late as possible, there's been some progress made on one or two today and we'll give it until tomorrow and go from there.
"Rudy went for a scan yesterday so we'll see how he is after today's treatment. Then we'll make a decision on him for the weekend.
"Tom is going to be close so we will give him as long as he possible can before we make a decision on him.
"Obviously we'll have to take into consideration that there is the international break after the weekend, so we'll just have to be sensible with looking after some of them if needed.
"The calibre of player that we've got missing is unbelievable, but if none of them recover in time, what we'll do is get on with the players that are available.
"Even though the squad is going to be stretched and tested, what it does do is it presents somebody an opportunity to stake a claim."
