Kick on with confidence

30 October 2014

Tom Cairney is hopeful that Rovers' result against Nottingham Forest last time out can kick the team on to bigger and better things.

Rovers overwhelmed a high-flying Forest side on Saturday with a sensational second half performance, eventually running out comfortable 3-1 winners.

The Rovers midfielder felt that a result like that had been on the cards, and they can use that to gain confidence going into this weekend's home match against Reading.

"We're a young, energetic side and we can get confidence from games like that," said Cairney.

"I think the performance has been coming all season with the chances we've been creating.

"We played Watford not long ago and they're up at the top of the league at the minute and we had something like 27 shots against them.

"So we knew we would create chances and it would only be a matter of time before we scored more goals.

"Hopefully now we can put a run together. We've put in the performances this season but we haven't got the points we've deserved.

"Hopefully now this is a turning point, maybe we can get in the play-offs at the end of the season."

Tickets for Saturday's match against Reading are on open sale up until the 3.00pm kick-off.
