Dunny can still do a job for us

24 October 2014

Craig Short was delighted to see David Dunn back in action in Rovers' midweek win over Birmingham City.

The veteran forward impressed in a half hour cameo as Rovers claimed all three points over managerless Birmingham.

Dunn hadn't featured for Rovers since the end of August as a niggling knee saw him sidelined, but Short was pleased to see him play his part once more.

"The other night he showed he has that awareness and I think when things are getting a bit tense when he's on the pitch he can help the younger players," said the Rovers coach. "He slows it down, he makes good decisions.

"There were moments of magic last year in games that only he can produce.

"The older you get as a player your legs might slow down but you generally make the better decisions and David does that. He's no spring chicken - we know that, but he's still as enthusiastic as he was when he was 19-20.

"He's raring to go, he's not thinking about retiring."

Dunn and Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they travel to take on Nottingham Forest. Tickets will be on sale from Ewood Park until 4.00pm Friday, priced £26.00 Adults, £18.00 Seniors (aged 65+), £14.00 Under 18, and £1.00 for Under 12.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets on the day of the game, cash only from the City Ground, but supporters should note that there is a £2 matchday increase for Adult and Senior prices.
